Mary Wawrytko

Mary Frances Wawrytko, 70, passed away April 22, 2021, in Huron at Admiral’s Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation, Huron, after a short battle with cancer.She was born in Sandusky, on April 28, 1950, and was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Geraldine Warren.

Mary was an accomplished artist who specialized in bronze casting and copper enameling. She went to the Cleveland Institute of Art.

She has had numerous exhibitions throughout Ohio at the Toledo and Cleveland Zoos, Severance Hall in Cleveland, Episcopal Church in Huron and, most recently, at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens in the children’s section.

She was a lover of all animals, especially her dog, Jamie, and her cats, Toby and Cricket. She continued her work in rescuing lost and unwanted cats.

She loved spending time at her special friends’ house, Vicki and Don Johnson of Huron. Every day for the past year, she would come over to their house and take Jamie on a leash and Mary on a lawnmower and take him on a long walk or run. She would take pictures of the sunsets when walking him.

She also had a studio set up at their place and did some work in there and also kept her TWO cats in there.

She was a kind, sweet, soft-spoken, extremely talented person and was taken too soon.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no services.
