Governor DeWine announces Phase 1D and Phase 2B of Ohio’s Vaccination Program

Columbus, OH – Starting Thursday, even more Ohioans will be eligible for the COVID-19 vacciene.

At the Monday, March 8, 2021 Ohio Coronavirus Press Conference, Governor Mike DeWine announced Phase 1D and Phase 2B of Ohio’s Vaccination Program. Both plans will go into effect on Thursday, March 8.

Phase 1D will apply to individuals who are living with diabetes and end-stage renal disease. Phase 2B will lower the age eligibility to 50 years of age.

A new online tool for scheduling vaccine appointments was also announced Monday. Ohioans can use the tool to determine if they are eligible to receive the vaccine, schedule appointments, receive updates and, reminders. Providers are now required to either schedule vaccines using this system or another electronic scheduling system that interfaces with this portal. The website for the tool is at gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov.
