Governor DeWine announces Phase 1C and Phase 2 of Ohio’s Vaccination Program

Columbus, OH – Starting Thursday, approximately 941,000 Ohioans will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

At the Monday, March 1, 2021 Ohio Coronavirus Press Conference, Governor Mike DeWine announced Phase 1C and Phase 2 of Ohio’s Vaccination Program. Both plans will start on Thursday, March 4.

Phase 1C will apply to individuals who are living with type 1 diabetes, pregnant, bone marrow transplant recipients, living with ALS; or who work in childcare services, funeral services, law enforcement, or corrections.

Phase 2 will with lower the age eligibility to 60 years of age.

Governor DeWine also announced that Ohio will get 96,100 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in its first week. More than 200 independent pharmacies around the state will get some of those doses. Most of these pharmacies had not yet received any vaccine yet. Doses will also go to local hospitals, health departments, and chain pharmacies.
