COVID-19 vaccinations to begin for Erie County residents 80 and older next week

The Erie County Health Department is expecting to distribute 1,100 COVID-19 vaccines to Erie County residents that are 80 years and older starting on the week of January 18.

The vaccines will be distributed at six locations. The locations are the Erie County Health Department office, Firelands Regional Medical Center, Kroger Pharmacy, Giant Eagle Pharmacy, and Discount Drug Mart locations in Sandusky and Huron.

Pre-registration is required. To register at the Erie County Health Department office or Firelands Regional Medical Center, go to the Health Department’s website or call 5678678222. This 80 and older requirement is in accordance with Ohio’s Phase 1B COVID-19 Vaccination plan. According to the plan, people 75 and older will be able to receive it on January 25, people 70 and older will be able to receive it on February 1, and people 65 and older will be able to receive it on February 8.
