22 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed and two new COVID-19 deaths in Erie County

Columbus, OH and Sandusky, OH – Since Wednesday in Erie County, 22 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 4,418. Two more people died from COVID-19. 158 people have now died from COVID-19 in Erie County. Three more people were hospitalized from COVID-19. Five people are currently being hospitalized for COVID-19 at Firelands. 620 total people have been hospitalized. 136 people are also currently under quarantine or isolation.

Since Thursday in the State of Ohio, 1,756 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed. That brings the total number of confirmed cases to 807,727. 2,559 more people died from COVID-19. About 2,500 of those deaths were from November and December, but weren’t counted due to an error. 15,136 people have now died of COVID-19 in Ohio. 142 people were hospitalized. 38,839 people were vaccinated for the first time. 1,199,593 people in Ohio or 10.26% of Ohio’s population have now began the vaccination process. 33,669 people also vaccinated for the second time. 408,103 people or 3.49% of Ohio’s population have now finished the vaccination process.
