79-year-old killed after being hit by car while walking on 250

SANDUSKY – A 79-year-old man was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a car while walking on U.S. Route 250, near State Route 2.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when Roger Fox was walking eastbound across US 250, outside of the marked crosswalk, south of SR 2. Fox tripped on the partitions on the centerline of US 250 and fell into the northbound lane.

At the same time, a 2011 Chrysler 200, driven by 20-year-old Timothy Harrod, of Sandusky, was traveling in the same lane and struck Fox.

Alcohol and drug use are not believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
