Sandusky City Commission to hold executive session on hiring new city manager

SANDUSKY – The Sandusky City Commission will hold a special meeting on July 17 at 5pm.

The public notice states that an executive meeting will be held for the purpose of hiring the city manager.

The city manager role has been vacant since November 2022 when Eric Wobser, who had served as city manager since 2014, left to become the co-director of the transition team for then-Cuyahoga County Executive-Elect Chris Ronayne and assumed the role of Ronayne’s chief of staff in January.

In May, Wobser left Cuyahoga County and returned to Sandusky to become the CEO of the Greater Sandusky Partnership.

Assistant City Manager John Orzech has been serving as interim city manager since Wobser’s departure from the City.
