Pedestrian killed after being hit by car on Route 20

CLYDE – A man was killed on U.S. Route 20 Monday night after being hit by a car while walking in the roadway.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Cory Corbin, 32, of Clyde, was walking in the left lane of Route 20, near milepost 29 in York Township, when a beige 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by Nathan Longbrake, 31, of Clyde, struck him.

Corbin was pronounced deceased at the scene by Sandusky County EMS personnel.

Longbrake suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash. They do not have an explanation as to why Corbin was walking in the roadway, but do believe alcohol or drug use was not a factor in the crash.
