Martha Wright

Martha Jean (Hahn) Wright, 90, of Berlin Heights, passed away peacefully Thursday February 9, 2023 in her home.

She was born April 23, 1932 in Brownhelm Township, Ohio and lived in Berlin Heights most of her life. She graduated from Kent State University with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She pursued her passion for education and taught for Western Reserve School District (Hartland and Townsend) for 30 years. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and Hilltop Farm Bureau Council.

Martha is survived by her children, Carla (Sherman) Tweet, of Minooka, IL, Paula Hartley, of Tampa, FL, and Amy (James) Wright-Jackson, of Louisville, CO; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Carl Wright; parents, Edward and Alma (Leimbach) Hahn; children, Bruce Wright, Constance Baatz, and Rebecca Wright; grandson, Joshua Bottiglier; great-granddaughter, Rachel Boyett; and brothers, William Hahn and Charles Hahn.

Friends are invited to join her family in a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 25 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 5 E. Main St., Berlin Heights. Viewing from 11 A.M. until funeral services begin at 12 P.M. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery and a reception will follow at the church. The family would be honored to listen to your fond memories and stories, and to share in laughter together as we all remember Martha.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the scholarship fund at First Congregational United Church of Christ or the library at Western Reserve Schools, Wakeman. Martha’s passion was to inspire the pursuit of an education and broadening horizons with an extraordinary book to read.
