Jose Leal

Jose Leal, 73, of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, February 13, 2023. He was born March 18, 1949, in New Braunfels, Texas, the son of Ramon and Luz (Silvas) Leal. Jose left high school to join the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and later he became a member of the United States Army Reserve. Jose worked at Ford Motor Company, in Lorain, for 19 years before retiring, and also spent his time doing bodywork and painting cars. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 2529 and a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Jose is survived by his children, Jarrod Leal of Greenfield IN, Jose (Bethany) Leal of Clyde, Victoriana (Craig) Wismer of Clyde, Amanda (John Patrlja) Leal of Sandusky, Richard (Michelle Gordon) Alexander of Sandusky, Shane Alexander of Sandusky, and Amber (JuJuan Forney) of Sandusky, and two brothers, Ramon (Kathy) Leal of Sandusky and Adolfo (Barb) Leal of Huron. He had 26 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandsons Jarrod Leal Jr., and Jose Leal Jr. six brothers Ramon Jr., Fernando, Rojelio “Rocky”, Alejo “Big Alex”, Roberto, Alejandro “Little Alex”, and sister, Odilia “Lilly” Long. A Celebration of Life will be held for Jose on Sunday afternoon, February 19, 2023 at 1:00 pm at David F Koch Funeral & Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave, Sandusky. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #83 and the VFW Post #2529.
