What Ohio’s minimum wage is increasing to for 2023

COLUMBUS – Ohio’s minimum wage is increasing by 80 cents per hour for non-tipped employees and 40 cents per hour for tipped employees for 2023.

The new minimum wage for non-tipped employees is $10.10 per hour. It was $9.30 per hour.

For non-tipped employees that are under 16 years of age or work at companies that gross less than $342,000, their wages will continue to be set at the federal minimum wage, which is $7.25 per hour.

The new minimum wage for tipped employees is $5.05 per hour, not including tips. It was $4.65 per hour. For an individual to be considered a tipped employee, they must engage in an occupation which regularly receives more than $30 per month in tips.

The increases went into effect on January 1.
