Woman allegedly uses bad check to purchase four wheelers

HURON – A Canton woman has been charged with a felony after she allegedly used a bad check to purchase two four wheelers.

According to a report from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday morning, deputies responded to J&J Sales on Sprowl Road for a fraud complaint.

When deputies arrived, according to the report, the general manager told them that Jamie Boyle, 19, came in on October 3 and purchased two Can-Am four wheelers with a check for $20,831.58. The general manager claimed that when J&J Sales attempted to deposit the check, it was denied due to insufficient funds, the report states. He added, according to the report, that when they tried to call Boyle using the number she gave them, the call would go straight to voicemail.

Deputies found that Boyle was in custody at the Lake County Jail for a warrant from the Canton Police Department, the report states.

Boyle was charged with vehicle theft, a fourth-degree felony. The charges were sent to the Lake County Jail, where she is at as of Saturday.
