Lois Troike

Lois Ruth (Chill) Troike, 81, residing in Lorain, passed away late Wednesday evening, August 10, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Lois was born on February 19, 1941 in Sandusky, OH to the late Frank Charles and Ruth Bernice (Saxer) Chill.

Lois graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1959. She was a life member of the Girl Scouts, where she was also their bookkeeper 15 years. Lois was also a life member at both the AMVETS in Vermilion and the America Legion in Sandusky, she was also a member of the Northcoast Decorative Artists. Lois was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sandusky. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, reading, crocheting and spending the winter months in the sunshine of Florida. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Lois is survived by her son, David T. (Susan) Troike; son-in-law, Richard G. Shiltz Jr; grandchildren, Richard T. Shiltz and Rene (Young) Cortez and great-grandsons, Carson J. Shiltz and Sebastian E. Davis.

In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Troike; daughter, Patricia A. (Troike) Shiltz and brother, Charles R. Chill.

Friends may call on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia.
