Cedar Point announces new Boardwalk area, Wild Mouse ride for 2023 season

SANDUSKY – Cedar Point announced Thursday their plans for a new area of the park, which will include a brand-new ride and a new waterfront dining venue.

The new area of the park will be called The Boardwalk, which is designed to be “modern interpretation of the Cedar Point of yesteryear.” The area (sketch in header photo) will feature new ride, dining and entertainment experiences as part of the improvement to the former Lakeside Midway.

“The Boardwalk is our vision of what the classic Cedar Point Boardwalk would have felt like long ago: the sights, the sounds, the electricity of the experience – this new area captures it all,” said Carrie Boldman, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point. “Lakeside attractions have always been a part of Cedar Point’s 153-year history, and that tradition lives on. We can’t wait for our guests to enjoy this stunning new centerpiece of summertime fun.”

The new Wild Mouse Roller Coaster will be located in The Boardwalk. The coaster, which will feature several nods to the original 1950s version of the ride, will have a 1,312 foot track and stand 52 feet tall. Its four-passenger cars will spin 360 degrees throughout the 1:10 minute ride.

Riders must be at least 42” tall to ride with a supervising companion, or 48” tall to ride alone.

Anchoring the Boardwalk will be Cedar Point’s Grand Pavilion, which commemorates the original Grand Pavilion entertainment space, which made its debut back in 1888. The new bi-level complex will be home to a new restaurant, a lake view bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and decks with views of Cedar Point, the Cedar Point Beach, and the Lake Erie shoreline.

Guests can enjoy admission for the rest of the 2022 season and all of next season with a 2023 Gold Pass, which is on sale for only $99. The pass can be purchased on Cedar Point’s website.
