Cedar Point employee accused of punching woman in the face after she recorded him

SANDUSKY – A Cedar Point employee was charged Tuesday night after he allegedly assaulted a woman who was recording him being chased by bugs.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, the woman told police that the incident started when she was recording A’Marion Nelson being followed around by bugs near Engine House Custard. She claimed, according to the report, that it made him angry and he punched her in the face.

The report states that the woman showed police video of the incident, which appears to show Nelson striking the woman. She also showed video of the two of them arguing after Nelson punched her, the report states.

According to the report, Nelson claimed that he did not punch her, but only pushed her in the face. He claimed, according to the report, that he did it because he was mad about her recording him being chased by bugs.

Nelson was charged with assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was then transported back to Cedar Point employee housing.

The next day, according to the report, Nelson arrived at the Sandusky Police Department and attempted to have the woman charged. According to the report, he showed police video which he claimed showed the woman assaulting him and tearing off his chain; however, police stated that they did not see that in the video. The report states that he also showed video of the woman calling him smelly; however, police said that was not a crime.

According to the report, Nelson then told police that he was probably going to lose his job and then tried to recant his statements from the previous night.
