Superintendent search group sessions moved to March 7

HURON – Due to Winter Storm Landon, the focus group sessions for Huron City Schools’ superintendent search that were scheduled for Wednesday, February 2 had to be rescheduled.

The sessions will now be held on Monday, March 7.

According to a press release from the OSBA, consultant Teri Morgan will first meet with administration, teachers, and staff during the day to review the hiring process and receive input. Parents, civic groups, business leaders, and community members are then invited to attend one of two evening sessions in the Tiger Union at Huron High School. The sessions will be held from 4:15PM to 5:00PM and 5:30PM to 6:15PM.

According to the OBSA, the conversations will focus on the following three topics:
1) Major issues facing the district for the next three to five years;
2) Performance expectations for the next superintendent; and
3) Personal and professional qualities to be sought in the next superintendent.

The timeline for this search includes accepting applications until midnight on February 18; first interviews on March 8, 9, and 10; second interviews on March 22 with the resolution to hire at the next appropriate Board of Education meeting
