Enid Scheck

Enid R. Scheck, 96, residing in Sandusky passed away early Saturday morning at Providence Care Center following a brief illness.

She was born on November 24, 1925 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Sylvester and Lucille (Smith) Mantey.

Enid was a 1943 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and retired from the City of Sandusky Income Tax Department after many years of service.

Enid was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting and spending time with her family.

Enid is survived by her daughters, Patricia DaGiau, The Villages, Florida, Sandra (Tony) Bartzen and Donna (Rosario) Barone both of Sandusky, eight grandchildren, 20, great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Including her parents Enid was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Richard J., her infant daughter Barbara, two sisters, Mary Lauber and Margaret Young, and two brothers James Mantey and Edward Mantey.

Friends may call on Wednesday July 13, 2022 from 9AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 429 Central Ave. Sandusky, Ohio. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The Groff Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
