Local highway construction for the week of June 27

Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated by the Ohio Department of Transportation to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca counties on the week of June 27.

Erie County

SR 2, from Berlin Road to SR 4, will have shoulder closures for bridge painting and repairs. Crews are working at various structures throughout the project limits to complete concrete patching and repair work.

SR 2, at the Berlin Road overpass, will have lane closures for bridge painting. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on SR 2. There will be no lane closures on Berlin Road. Estimated completion: July 2022

U.S. 6, from the western Vermilion Corporation limits to the Lorain County line, and State Route 60, from the southern Vermilion Corporation limits to U.S. 6, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project and bridge work at the structure over the Vermilion River. Estimated completion: June 2022

State Route 113 westbound, just west of U.S. 250, will have single lane closures for a slope repair project. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. The contractor will be installing a drilled shaft retaining wall to repair the slope on the north side of SR 113. Estimated completion: September 2022

Huron County

U.S. 20 along the Norwalk Bypass, from SR 99 to Cleveland Road, will have single lane closures as needed for bridge painting at structures along the bypass.

The exit ramp from U.S. 20 east to SR 61 is closed for bridge painting at the U.S. 20 overpass, over the exit ramp lanes. The detour route will be to continue on U.S. 20 east to U.S. 250 exit, then north on U.S. 250 through Norwalk to SR 61. Estimated completion: Tuesday, June 28, 2022

Lorain County

Boone Road, between State Route 82 and Snell Road, will close Monday, June 27 for a Lorain County Sanitary Sewer Project. The detour route will be SR 82 west to SR 252 north to Snell Road east, and reverse. Estimated completion: To be announced

State Route 57 northbound and southbound, between SR 82 and SR 10/U.S. 20, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained in the adjacent lane. An 11′ lane width will be maintained.

The Grafton Road entrance ramp to U.S. 20 eastbound will close Tuesday, July 5 for ramp reconstruction work. The detour route for motorists traveling to U.S. 20 eastbound from Grafton Road will be to continue on Grafton Road south to SR 57 north to U.S. 20/SR 10 east. Estimated completion: Tuesday, June 12, 2022

The Grafton Road entrance ramp to U.S. 20 westbound will close Friday, July 8 for ramp reconstruction work. The detour route for motorists traveling to U.S. 20 westbound from Grafton Road will be to take SR 57 north to U.S. 20 west. Estimated completion: Friday, July 15, 2022

State Route 57, between Parsons Road and Railroad Street, will close Tuesday, July 5 for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists will be SR 57 to SR 83, north on SR 83 to SR 82, west on SR 82 to SR 57, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, July 8, 2022

State Route 58, between Cemetery Road and Kent Street, will close Tuesday, July 5 for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists will be SR 58 to SR 162, west on SR 162 to SR 511, north on SR 511 to SR 18, east on SR 18 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Saturday, July 9, 2022

Ottawa County

State Route 2, between SR 358 and SR 163 (east of Port Clinton), will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing through August.

Eastbound SR 2 ramp to southbound SR 53 will be closed for emergency pavement repairs on Wednesday, June 29, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

State Route 2, over Cedar Creek between Teachout Rd. and Donovan Rd., Jerusalem Twp., may experience lane restrictions for finish work through June. Lane restrictions are expected on Friday, June 24 for finish work.

Sandusky County

U.S. Route 6, between CR 128 and Brush St., will experience lane restrictions for US 6/US 20/State St. interchange reconfiguration.

Eastbound US 20 ramp to westbound/southbound US 6 will be closed for reconstruction beginning Monday, June 6 through mid-August. Detour: Eastbound CR 20 along W. State St to Oak Harbor Rd. Left on Oak Harbor Rd. to interchange with US 20/US 6. Left on US 20 WB/ US 6 WB/SB.

State Route 19, between TR 127 and TR 83, Fremont, will be closed for two culvert replacements beginning Monday, June 6 through early August. Detour: US 20 to SR 590 to SR 105.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 224 at State Route 587, New Riegel, will be closed for roundabout construction beginning Monday, June 13 through mid-August. U.S. 224 Detour: US 23 to SR 18 to US 224. SR 587 Detour: SR 53 to SR 18.

State Route 100, between County Road 58 and Riverside Dr., Tiffin, will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing through mid-July.

State Route 228, between SR 19/CR 32 and SR 101, Tiffin, closure is postponed.
