Plane crashes at Hinde Airport in Huron

HURON – One individual was hospitalized after a small plane crashed at Hinde Airport in Huron Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Mini-Max Ultralight, a single seat single engine aircraft, crashed in a field just after departing from the airport.

The pilot was identified as Kaden R. Keegan, 20, Castalia. Keegan was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Keegan described high winds to troopers as a contributing factor into what cause the aircraft to spinout and ultimately nosedive into the field.

The crash remains under investigation. At this point, Impairment is not suspected.

The FAA will be assisting the Ohio State Highway Patrol with the investigation.
