One hospitalized after car strikes trailer

WAKEMAN – One individual was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after a car hit the trailer of a truck at the intersection of Florence Wakeman Road and Burr Road.

According to a report from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, a 2021 Ford Ecosport was traveling southbound on Florence Wakeman Road. At the same time, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado with a trailer attached was turning north from Burr Road onto Florence Wakeman Road, after stopping at the stop sign. The Ecosport struck the driver’s side of the trailer.

The driver of the Ecosport, a 41-year-old Berlin Heights women, had suspected serious injuries and was transported to Fisher-Titus Regional Medical Center by Citizens Ambulance Services.

The driver of the Silverado, a 22-year-old Chillicothe women, was cited for failing to obey a traffic control device.
