2 charged after allegedly trespassing in closed hotel room

SANDUSKY – Two individuals were charged Thursday after they allegedly trespassed in a room at the Baymont Inn in Sandusky.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, police were called to the hotel for a report that individuals had broken into a room. When police arrived, according to the report, the owner of the hotel told them he noticed a door was open and it was being held open by a plastic bag that was on the inside. He added, the report states, that the hotel was closed and no one was supposed to be there.

According to the report, when police searched the room, they found it in disarray. The report states that police found clothing, pills, and fecal material in the toilet. Along with this, according to the report, police located several pieces of mail belonging to Shannon and Hugh Craig.

After police searched the room, the report states, am employee showed police security camera footage of a man and woman, later identified as Shannon and Hugh Craig, entering the room for the past two weeks. The video shows Craig entering through an open window.

According to the report, police located Shannon and Hugh Craig at the nearby Value Inn. The two were arrested for criminal trespass (M4) and criminal damaging (M2).
