Woman hospitalized, charged after allegedly driving car into house while drunk

SANDUSKY – Autumn Dunn, 43, of Sandusky, was hospitalized and charged after she allegedly crashed her car into a Sandusky house while she was drunk Wednesday night.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, Dunn was traveling west to east on Sandusky Street, when she swerved left of center to avoid striking a car legally parked on the south side of the street. Dunn’s vehicle continued traveling onto the boulevard on the north side of the street, striking a guide wire
running to a utility pole, and eventually crossing over Camp Street, where it struck the front porch of a house.

When police arrived, according to the report, they found Dunn passed-out and sitting in the driver’s seat slumped over. According to the report, police opened the passenger door and were able to wake Dunn. The report states that a strong oder of alcohol was detected from the vehicle and a open alcohol bottle was found on the floor. A drug test was preformed on Dunn, the report states.

Dunn was charged with OVI (M1), DUS OVI (M1), failure to control a motor vehicle (MM), and open container in a motor vehicle (MM). She has two prior OVI convictions from Sandusky Municipal Court.

Following the incident, Dunn was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center by the Sandusky Fire Department.
