City of Huron offering free loaner ice skates

HURON – If you would like to skate on the new ice rink at Fabens Park but don’t have any skates, the City of Huron now has a solution for that.

The city says that they now have a limited supply of ice skates available to lend out.

The skates are available the following sizes: Y3, Y3.5, Y4, Y11, Y12, Y13, A7, A10, and A11.5.

According to the city, the skates were made available through a donation by the Columbus Blue Jackets. They are all used hockey skates.

The skates are available for pick-up at the Huron Parks & Recreation office, which is located at 110 Wall Street, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, from 1:00PM to 4:30PM. Call 419-433-8487 to check availability.

The city asks that the skates be returned to the office on the following day or, if after the weekend, on Monday.
