Russell Lough

Russell “Grant” Lough, 77, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2021, at his home in Kearney, Missouri after an extended battle with cancer.

Grant was born on October 10, 1944, in Waneta, West Virginia to Inez and Bernard Lough. He spent his childhood in Bergoo, West Virginia. Grant played varsity football for four years at Webster Springs High School and was voted Mr. Wildcat his senior year, class of 1964. He moved to Ohio where he met his love, Lana (Warren) Lough. He was drafted in the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. Once discharged from the Army, he married Lana and started a family in Huron, Ohio on April 20, 1968. He worked at Lorain Ford and retired after 36 years. He also started a commercial and residential cleaning company, 3L Cleaning Service, Inc. Grant and Lana celebrated 53 years of blessed marriage this past April.

Grant loved the Lord and served whole heartedly in the church for the past 50 years in these ministries: youth, children’s church, AWANA, seniors, and as a deacon. He cherished his time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. His favorite pastime was being outside doing yardwork and gardening.

Grant was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, and five brothers. He was the fifteenth of seventeen children.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lana Lough; daughters, Kristen (Randy) Schmitke, Kelly (Len) Broughton; six grandchildren, Audriana, Mitchell, Brock, Olivia, Emma, and Isaac; and two great granddaughters, Brinley and Sienna.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Kearney, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to globalcross.org.

Arrangements in care of Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney.
