Man arrested after allegedly trying to enter home while intoxicated

HURON – A man was arrested Saturday evening after he allegedly tried to enter a stranger’s house.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the River Road house for a report of a an unknown male subject attempting to gain entry into the house.

According to the report, when the deputy arrived, he observed the complainant pointing out of a window, signaling that the subject had walked around the side of the house. The deputy then followed the footsteps in the snow to the man, Monte Hall Jr., 45.

Hall, who allegedly appeared to be highly intoxicated, allegedly said that he was attempting to enter his house, but could not find a way in.

After Hall was taken into custody, the deputy allegedly observed footprints in the snow coming from several houses down.

Hall was charged with Disorderly Conduct while Intoxicated (M4). Following the incident, he was transported to the Erie County Jail.
