Local highway construction for the week of November 22

North Central Ohio – Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca counties on the week of November 22.

Erie County

There are currently no active projects in Erie County.

Huron County

There are currently no active projects in Huron County.

Lorain County

U.S. 20 between Stoney Ridge Road and Lear Nagle Road will have periodic single lane closures throughout the project limits. Crews continue cleanup and corrective work throughout. The estimated completion date is November.

U.S. 20, from SR 57 to SR 301, will have single lane closures for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained at all times. The estimated completion date is November.

I-90 eastbound and westbound at the structures over the railroad tracks, between French Creek Road and SR 611 (Colorado Avenue), will have lane closures for a bridge reconstruction project. Traffic will be maintained with barrels and portable concrete barriers. Traffic will be maintained in 11’ lanes eastbound and westbound. Speed limits will be established at 55 mph for areas with barrier wall and 50 mph for areas with barrels when workers are present. The estimated completion date is July 2022.

The intersection of State Route 113 and Baumhart Raod is closed for an intersection improvement project that will convert the current signalized intersection to a single-lane roundabout. The detour route for eastbound motorists on SR 113 will be SR 113 east to SR 60, north on SR 60 to SR 2, east on SR 2 to SR 58, south on SR 58 to SR 113, and reverse for westbound motorists. The detour route for northbound motorists on Baumhart Road will be Baumhart Road north on SR 511, east on SR 511 to SR 58, north on SR 58 to SR 2, west on SR 2 to Baumhart Road, and reverse for southbound motorists. The estimated completion date is November.

State Route 254, from Avon Commons drive to just east of Nagle Road, will be reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. Crews continue night work for milling, pavement repairs, and linear grading. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The estimated completion date is November.

I-480 eastbound and westbound, between the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) and Lorain Road, will have daily and nightly lane closures for a resurfacing project. Estimated completion: November 2021

Ottawa County

State Route 105 between South Elliston-Trowbridge Road and South Graytown Road in Harris Township may experience lane restrictions for finish work through November.

Sandusky County

Clay Street between Academy Street and Morgan Street may experience lane restrictions for signal work through 2021.

State Route 53 between Schwartz Rd. and the Ohio Turnpike in Fremont may experience lane restrictions for Turnpike work. The estimated completion date is September.

State Route 300 north of SR 600 in Gibsonburg is closed for work performed by the Village of Gibsonburg through November. The detour is US 6 to US 23 to US 20.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 23 at the railroad tracks between Switzer Road and Eagleville Road in Fostoria will be closed for railroad repairs through Monday, November 22. The detour is US 6 to SR 199 to US 23.

U.S. Route 23 between Wyandot County and Fostoria will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing and guardrail. The project is expected to be completed in November.

U.S. Route 224 at State Route 53 in Tiffin may experience lane and shoulder restrictions for signal work through winter.

State Route 53 between Highland Park Estates and Cottage Drive in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions nightly. The project is expected to be completed in November.

State Route 101 between SR 778 and SR 19 in Republic will be closed for two culvert replacements beginning Thursday, September 30. The estimated completion date is November 21. The detour is SR 778 to SR 19 to SR 101.
