Search underway for missing Seneca County woman

UPDATE: Kathleen Kiesel has been found safe.

REPUBLIC – The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for Kathleen Kiesel, 62, of Republic.

According to a press release, in the early hours of Saturday, November 6, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting Kiesel missing from her residence.

After deputies arrived at the Kathleen and her husband Jack’s residence, they called in assistance from Scipio-Republic Fire Department, Bloom-Scipio E.M.S., Seneca County C.E.R.T Team, and additional area Law Enforcement, including multiple Canine Units from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Ottawa County Sheriff’s, Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation Division, and Arial Viewpoint Drone Unit.

A extensive search for Kiesel took place Saturday. ​Crews begin searching on foot and ATVs. The search continued throughout the day, with crews utilizing canines, drones, and helicopters to get conduct the search by land and by air. The search and investigation are still ongoing, as of Sunday.

“Investigators do find the where-a-bouts of Mrs. Kiesel as suspicious, and it is considered to be an ongoing investigation,” said Seneca County Sheriff Stevens.
