Erie County Health Department to begin administering COVID-19 booster shots in mid-October

SANDUSKY – The Erie County Health Department and Erie County Community Health Center will begin to administer Pfizer booster doses for the COVID-19 vaccine in mid-October.

Individuals who are eligible must have receivedtheir second dose of Pfizer vaccine at least a six months ago and must be in one of the following groups,

  • People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings
  • People ages 50 to 64 with certain underlying medical conditions
  • People ages 18 to 49 who are at high risk for severe COVID-19 due to certain underlying medical conditions
  • People ages 18-64 who are at increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of an occupational or institutional setting

Those who are eligible for their booster shot will be able to schedule an appointment online or by calling automated registration phone number. Further information on how to schedule an appointment will be provided when the scheduling systems are active to schedule an appointment.
