James Gaudiello

James J. Gaudiello, 71, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on August 26,2021.

James was born on February 8, 1950, in Chester, PA to parents Joe and Elizabeth Gaudiello.

He proudly served his county with distinction and honor. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war and continued to serve on active duty for several years with the U.S. Army National Guard combat engineers. He later retired with the rank Major after 24 years of service. He is eternally thankful to God for the wonderful life he has provided.

James enjoyed spending time with his family. He also was active in the community and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron, Bay Area football and basketball association, and the U.S. Army Officer Retiree Association. 

He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Carver) Gaudiello; sons, Nicholas (Janice Burns) Gaudiello and Phillip (deceased) (Raimie Riley) Gaudiello; daughters, Amy (Andrew) Knowles, Elizabeth (James) Woodyard, and Eileen (Derek Grandys) Gaudiello; grandchildren, Shawn, Matty, Nate, Emma, Wendy, Ruby, Lydia, Sianna, Landen, Hanna, and Sydney; sisters, Denise Gaudiello of Fairhaven, MA, Christine Benner of Calais, ME, and Jean Marie Gaudeillo of New Bedford, MA.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary Gaudiello, Richard Gaudiello, and Christopher Gaudiello; and son, Phillip Gaudiello.

A funeral mass will be held on August 31, 2021, at 12 p.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church Huron, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, Jay has asked for donations to Kelleys Island 4-H Camp, 403 Ward Rd., Kelleys Island, OH 43438 or to St. Peter Catholic Church Library, 430 Main St., Huron, OH 44839.

Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, Huron, will be handling the arrangements.
