Local highway construction for the week of August 2

North Central Ohio – Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca Counties on the week of August 2.

Erie County

Strub Road (CR 7), from Columbus Avenue to U.S. 250 will have periodic lane closures for a resurfacing project. Crews continue to work on punch list items, cleanup work, and minor repairs. The estimated completion date is August.

State Route 13 from U.S. 250 to the Huron limits will have single lane closures as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The estimated completion date is August.

State Route 99 from the Huron County line to State Route 4 will have single lane closures as part of a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The estimated completion date is August.

State Route 113 is closed between River Road and McIntyre Road. The detour route for eastbound motorists will be SR 113 to U.S. 250, north on U.S. 250 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to SR 2, east on SR 2 to SR 61, south on SR 61 to SR 113, and reverse for westbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Saturday, September 4.

State Route 601 in Milan, from SR 113 to the south corporation limit in the Village of Milan will have single lane closures for a Safe Routes to School project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Crews will be excavating for sidewalk installation, reconstructing curb ramps, and performing traffic signal work. The estimated completion date is August.

Huron County

State Route 99 between Egypt Rd. and Township Road 12 will be closed on Monday, July 26, for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 99 north to SR 61, north on SR 61 to SR 162, west on SR 162 back to SR 99 and reverse for southbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Tuesday, August 24.

U.S. 20 along the Norwalk Bypass from SR 61 to the end of the bypass at Cleveland Road will have intermittent single lane closures or shoulder closures for a resurfacing project. The estimated completion date is August.

U.S. 20 eastbound and westbound from SR 99 to SR 61 will have intermitted single lane closures or shoulder closures for a resurfacing project. The estimated completion date is August.

State Route 162 between Greenwich East Town Line Road and Euclid Road is closed for a culvert replacement project. The detour route for westbound motorists will be SR 162 to SR 60, south on SR 60 to U.S. 224, west on U.S. 224 to U.S. 250, north on U.S. 250 to SR 162, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Wednesday, August 4.

U.S. 250 from U.S. 20 to the Ashland County line will have lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers or temporary traffic signals. The estimated completion date is August.

Lorain County

State Route 2 from just east of Baumhart Road to just east of SR 58 will have daily and nightly single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained in 11’ lanes at all times. The estimated completion date is September.

U.S. 20 between Stoney Ridge Road and Lear Nagle Road will have one lane of traffic maintained in each direction as needed for reconstruction and resurfacing work. There will be periodic lane closures throughout the next couple of weeks as crews install the final pavement markings. Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the project and plan accordingly. Slow down and pay attention while traveling through the work zone. The estimated completion date is August.

U.S. 20 at the structures over Grafton Road and SR 57 will have lane closures for bridge repairs. Traffic will be maintained eastbound and westbound with portable concrete barriers or construction barrels. The lane closures may occur concurrently or alternately depending on project work. Estimated completion of entire project is August.

State Route 58 from Cooper Foster Park Road to U.S. 6 will have one lane of traffic maintained in each direction for a resurfacing project.

Crews will begin resurfacing work from 7AM to 6PM between Cooper Foster Road to SR 611. The estimated completion date is September.

State Route 58 between W. 20th Street and Edith Street is closed for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists will be SR 58 to SR 611, east on SR 611 to SR 57, north on SR 57 to U.S. 6, west on U.S. 6 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Saturday, July 24.

I-90 eastbound and westbound at the structures over the railroad tracks, between French Creek Road and SR 611 (Colorado Avenue), will have lane closures for a bridge reconstruction project. Traffic will be maintained with barrels and portable concrete barriers. Traffic will be maintained in 11’ lanes eastbound and westbound. Speed limits will be established at 55 mph for areas with barrier wall and 50 mph for areas with barrels when workers are present. The estimated completion date is July 2022.

State Route 301 (Lagrange Road) bridge over U.S. 20 will have single lane closures for bridge repairs. Traffic will be maintained at all times. The estimated completion date is August.

State Route 301 just south of SR 303 will close on Monday, August 2 for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for southbound motorists will be SR 301 to SR 303, east on SR 303 to SR 83, south on SR 83 to SR 18, west on SR 18 to SR 301, and reverse for northbound motorists. The estimated completion date is Friday, August 6, 2021

I-480 eastbound and westbound between the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) and Lorain Road will have shoulder closures and daily lane closures for a resurfacing project. Crews will be performing bridge maintenance and guardrail repairs. Estimated completion of entire project is September.

Ottawa County

State Route 19 between Duff-Washa Rd/CR 24 and Moore Rd/CR 99 in Carroll Township will be closed for railroad crossing work beginning Wednesday, July 28. The estimated completion date is Saturday, July 31. Detour: SR 163 to SR 590 to SR 2.

State Route 163 between Hartshorn Rd. and Skyline Dr. in Lakeside and Marblehead may experience lane restrictions for finish work in August.

State Route 579 between the Wood County line and State Route 2 in Williston will continue to experience lane restrictions for resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed in in June.

State Route 590 between Trowbridge Rd/CR 67 and Toussaint North Rd/CR 62 in Benton Township will be closed for railroad crossing work beginning Monday, August 2. The estimated completion date is Thursday, August 5. The detour is from SR 163 to SR 19 to SR 2.

Sandusky County

U.S. Route 6 between CR 232 and TR 240, Fremont will be closed for a bridge replacement beginning Monday, August 2. The project is expected to be completed on September 30. The detour is US 20 to SR 412 to SR 510.

Eastbound U.S. Route 20 between State Street and US 6 in Fremont will be closed for a slope repair. The project is expected to be completed in August. The detour is to go from US 20 to SR 590 to US 6 to US 20

Westbound U.S. Route 6/20 between SR 19 and US 20 in Fremont will be reduced to one lane for a slope repair. The project is expected to be completed in August.

State Route 19 between Maple Ln. and Academy St. in Green Springs is closed for a culvert replacement. The project is expected to be completed in August. The detour is to go from SR 101 to SR 510 to US 20

State Route 53 between Schwartz Rd. and the Ohio Turnpike in Fremont may experience lane restrictions for Turnpike work. The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 300 north of SR 600 in Gibsonburg will be closed beginning Monday, August 16. The detour is US 6 to US 23 to US 20. Work will be performed by Village of Gibsonburg.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 23 between Wyandot County and Fostoria will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing and guardrail. The project is expected to be completed in October.

State Route 19 between CR 24 and CR 38 in Republic will be closed for a culvert replacement. The project is expected to be completed on Sunday, August 22. The detour is SR 18 to CR 113 to SR 101.

State Route 53 between Highland Park Estates and Cottage Dr in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing beginning Monday, August 3. The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 100, between County Road 58 and Riverside Dr in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed in November.

SR 100 between Township Road 58 and Township Road 17 will be closed for bridge repair from Monday, August 2 through Wednesday, August 4. The detour is to go from SR 67 to US 224 to SR 100.
