Local highway construction for the week of July 19

North Central Ohio – Here is a look at construction projects that are anticipated to impact highways in Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Seneca Counties on the week of July 19.

Erie County

Strub Road (CR 7), from Columbus Avenue to U.S. 250, will have periodic lane closures for a resurfacing project that includes the installation of an additional turn lane from U.S. 250 to Strub Road and sidewalk upgrades.

Huron County

State Route 598, just south of Township Road 196 (May Road), will close on Monday, July 26 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 598 to SR 98, north on SR 98 to SR 61, north on SR 61 to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The projected is estimated to be completed on Friday, July 30.

Lorain County

State Route 58, between W. 20th Street and Edith Street, will close Monday, July 19 for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists will be SR 58 to SR 611, east on SR 611 to SR 57, north on SR 57 to U.S. 6, west on U.S. 6 to SR 58, and reverse for southbound motorists. The projected is estimated to be completed on Saturday, July 24.

Ottawa County

State Route 105 between Williston Rd. and Elmore may experience lane restrictions for a chip seal during the week of July 26.

State Route 163 between Hartshorn Rd. and Skyline Dr. in Lakeside and Marblehead may experience lane restrictions for finish work in August.

State Route 579 between the Wood County line and State Route 2 in Williston will continue to experience lane restrictions for resurfacing. The project is expected to be completed in in June.

Lane restrictions are possible county-wide for a sign and post replacement project through October.

Sandusky County

U.S. Route 6 between CR 232 and TR 240, Fremont will be closed for a bridge replacement beginning Monday, August 2. The project is expected to be completed on September 30. The detour is US 20 to SR 412 to SR 510.

Eastbound U.S. Route 20 between State Street and US 6 in Fremont will be closed for a slope repair. The project is expected to be completed in August. The detour is to go from US 20 to SR 590 to US 6 to US 20

Westbound U.S. Route 6/20 between SR 19 and US 20 in Fremont will be reduced to one lane for a slope repair. The project is expected to be completed in August.

State Route 19 between Maple Ln. and Academy St. in Green Springs is closed for a culvert replacement. The project is expected to be completed in August. The detour is to go from SR 101 to SR 510 to US 20

State Route 53 between Schwartz Rd. and the Ohio Turnpike in Fremont may experience lane restrictions for Turnpike work. The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 300 between Gibsonburg and U.S. 20, Gibsonburg, may experience lane restrictions for a chip seal during the week of July 26.

Seneca County

U.S. Route 23 between Wyandot County and Fostoria will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing and guardrail. The project is expected to be completed in October.

U.S. Route 224 between TR 109 and TR 113 in Tiffin will be closed for a culvert replacement beginning Monday, July 19. The project is expected to be completed on Friday, July 23. The detour is to go from SR 18 to SR 587.

State Route 19 between CR 24 and CR 38 in Republic will be closed for a culvert replacement beginning Monday, August 2. The project is expected to be completed on Sunday, August 22. The detour is SR 18 to CR 113 to SR 101.

State Route 53 between Highland Park Estates and Cottage Dr in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing beginning Monday, August 3. The project is expected to be completed in September.

State Route 100, between County Road 58 and Riverside Dr in Tiffin will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing beginning Monday, July 12. The project is expected to be completed in November.

SR 100 between Township Road 58 and Township Road 17 will be closed for bridge repair from July 27 to July 29. The detour is to go from SR 67 to US 224 to SR 100
