11 Huron Tiger track athletes advance to state

LEXINGTON – 11 Huron Tiger track athletes advanced to the OHSAA State Championship meet on Saturday. This is the most track athletes that have advanced to state in Huron’s history. Below are the athletes that qualified along with their times and places.

Maggie Golling, Jaden Carey, CeAujanay Grant, and Isabella Cozzie finished sixth, with a time of 51.19, in the Girls 4×100 Meter Relay. Though they only finished sixth, they qualified for state through an at-large bid.

Richie Delaney, Ben Buathier, Conner Schaeffer, and Zach Weyer finished second, with a time of 1:31.65, in the Boys 4×200 Meter Relay.

Maggie Golling, Hayden Roshong, CeAujanay Grant, and Isabella Cozzie finished third, with a time of 1:46.08, in the Girls 4×200 Meter Relay.

Richie Delaney, Zach Weyer, Conner Schaeffer, and Jacob Eck finished first, with a time of 3:24.27, in the Boys 4×400 Meter Relay.

Isabella Cozzie finished second, with a time of 13.07, in the Girls 100 Meter Dash. Cozzie also finished fourth, with a time of 26.79, in the Girls 200 Meter Dash.

Kennedy Schlessman finished third, with a time of 2:18.89, in the Girls 800 Meter Run. Though this was only Schlessman’s second time running the 800, she broke the school record. That record was a time of 2:19.00 and was set back in 1987.

Jaden Carey finished third, with a score of 16’02.75″, in the Girls Long Jump.
