Lakeshore Flood Warning issued for Erie, Lucas and Ottawa counties

Cleveland, OH – The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued Lakeshore Flood Warning for Erie, Lucas and Ottawa counties. It will go into effect at 10AM Wednesday and end at 4AM Thursday.

The weather service is expecting a prolonged period of northeast gales to 35 knots will result in rising water levels across the western basin of Lake Erie. The water level at Marblehead is expected to rise to near 70 inches above low water datum later Wednesday morning, before water levels begin to fall later Wednesday evening. The water level at Toledo is expected to rise near 74 inches above low
water datum Wednesday afternoon, before water levels begin to fall later Wednesday evening.

They are also expecting that numerous roads will be closed and low lying property will be flooded.
