COVID-19 vaccinations for Ohio teachers to begin next week
Columbus, OH – At the Thursday, January 28 Ohio Coronavirus Press Conference, Governor Mike DeWine announced that COVID-19 vaccinations for teachers will begin next week.
Governor DeWine announced that school districts will begin to be notified about which week they will receive their vaccinations. A list of first week schools was released Thursday. No Erie County district was on it.
Governor DeWine also said, “We have a limited supply of vaccine. We have pulled vaccine from our statewide allocation specifically for vaccinating our K-12 staff. There just isn’t enough to do every school in the first week. We must be able to also vaccinate older Ohioans in February.”
It was also announced that Hamilton County would be moved down from Purple Alert Level 4 to Red Alert Level 3. All other counties had no change.
