Man allegedly throws pushes wife onto pavement, drives intoxicated with handgun

SANDUSKY – A 34-year-old man was arrested on August 20 after he allegedly threw some his wife’s belongings out of their car and pushed her onto pavement when she tried to pick them up.

According to a report from the Sandusky Police Department, the complainant, the wife, told police that the incident began when her and her husband, Donavon Daniels, began arguing at a gas station on their way home. She claimed that as they got close to home, Daniels began to throw her belongings out of the vehicle. The report states that police located a large amount of property on the ground outside their house.

The complainant told police, according to the report, that when she went to pick up her items, her husband pushed her onto the pavement, which cause her to fall on her shoulder. The report states that the complainant had a small laceration to her right shoulder and her tee shirt sleeve was ripped. The complainant’s head avoided injury because it landed on a dog bed, the report states.

According to the report, the complainant showed police security camera footage of the incident, which backed up her story.

Daniels was charged with domestic violence (M1), using weapons while intoxicated (M1), OVI (M1), and improperly handling a firearm while intoxicated (F5).

The last three charges were due Daniels allegedly knowingly transporting a loaded handgun in his motor vehicle while he was intoxicated.
