Robert Deitzel

Robert Arthur Deitzel, 90, residing in Sandusky, passed away Monday morning, August 8, 2022 at Stein Hospice Care Center surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on November 15, 1931 in Graytown, OH to the late Arthur H. and Thelma (Snyder) Deitzel.

Robert was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps who proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a yard foreman for 31 years atCedar Point and 7 years at Royal Yacht Marine. Robert was a former member of the Sandusky VFW and a lifetime member of the AMVETS. Robert loved his family, raising his children all on his own and instilled his strong work ethic to all of them.

Robert is survived by his companion of 45 years, Hiltrud Morrison; sons, Robert E. (Dorothy) Deitzel Sr. and Michael W. Deitzel; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Doug) Davis and Mary Chilcote and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sons, Harold J. and William E. Deitzel; 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Friends may call on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 12:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Minister Starr Ridgley will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. The American Legion Post 83 will conduct military honors.
