Two charged following bar fight in downtown Sandusky

SANDUSKY – Two individuals were charged early Sunday morning following a fight at Daly’s Pub in Sandusky.

According to the report from the Sandusky Police Department, police responded to the bar at 12:40AM for the second time that morning, for a report of a fight. About 15 minutes earlier, police issued a warning s for disorderly behavior to Trae Caffey, 27, of Sandusky.

According to the report, this time when police arrived that were brought by bar staff to the back, where Caffey was shirtless, fighting, and refusing to leave. Police then arrested Caffey for persistent disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

As police were arrested Caffey, according to the report, a group of people became confrontational and began to yell at officers to protest of Trae’s arrest. The report states that Aaron Tucker, 28, of Sandusky, used profanities, which continued the disturbance. The report states that police believed that he was likely to cause violence from other patrons. Tucker was also arrested for persistent disorderly conduct.

Soon after Caffey and Tucker were arrested, Daly’s Pub closed, which caused 100 to 150 people to be left out of the sidewalk; with many of them yelling and screaming, the report states. Officers from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and Perkins Police Department were called in to help disperse the crowd.

Caffey and Tucker were both issued summons for persistent disorderly conduct and released.
