Woman Died After Running a Stop Sign and Colliding With Another Car

A 49-year-old woman died in a crash in Auglaize County on Saturday morning, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesperson.

At 9:44 a.m., a crash occurred at the intersection of US-33 and Town Line Lima Road.

Jennifer Rains, 49, of Wapakoneta, was killed in the crash, according to a spokesperson.

According to preliminary findings, Rains was driving a Chevrolet Equinox south on Town Line Lima Road at the time of the crash.

According to the spokesperson, Rains failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with an oncoming Jeep Grand Cherokee.

A 31-year-old Wapakoneta woman was driving the Jeep east on US-33 when it crashed.

According to the spokesperson, the impact caused both cars to leave the south side of US-33.

Medics transported both drivers to Lima Memorial Hospital, where Rains was pronounced dead.

The spokesperson stated that Rains was not wearing a seatbelt.

It’s unclear how severe the other driver’s injuries are.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Wapakoneta Post is continuing to investigate this crash.
