Two California men are in jail after police said they allegedly assaulted another man while waiting in line to buy Pokemon cards.

The Colma Police Department announced on Facebook that 27-year-old Isaiah Calles and 49-year-old Miguel Orellanas Flores were arrested on Saturday and charged with multiple felonies in connection with an incident at a GameStop store.

Police said that at 9:22 a.m. that day, officers responded to reports of a “physical altercation” between several people at the store. When they arrived, they discovered an unnamed person with life-threatening injuries, including “lacerations to the head and multiple stab wounds.”

Witnesses said the suspects left the scene in separate cars following the alleged altercation, which occurred while everyone was waiting in line to buy Pokemon cards.

According to police, Flores attempted to cut in line, resulting in a verbal argument between him and the alleged victim. As the fight progressed, Flores allegedly smashed a mason jar over the victim’s head. Calles then allegedly used the broken glass shards to stab the victim “multiple times.”

Police did not provide any information about Flores’ connection or relationship with Calles.

Witnesses at the scene told police that Flores and Calles left the shopping center parking lot in their respective cars and photographed the vehicles and their license plates. Police said they were able to track down both vehicles and apprehend both suspects.

The alleged victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Flores and Calles were both charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, battery with serious bodily injury, assault with a deadly weapon, and assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, with an additional special allegation of great bodily injury. Both are being held at the Maguire Correctional Facility under a $250,000 bond.

Calles is set to appear in court on Tuesday.
