In-N-Out Burger intends to open a massive restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip in 2026, complete with a larger-than-average dining area, a company store on-site, and, of course, a signature pair of crisscrossing palm trees.
However, no matter how grand the upcoming Vegas location is, it will not be able to accommodate as many hungry customers as the In-N-Out in Barstow.
In terms of seating area, the In-N-Out restaurant in Barstow is the largest in the company’s portfolio out of hundreds of locations across the country. It is located off Interstate 15, nearly halfway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and has become a popular stop for tourists and roadtrippers, as evidenced by reviews on Yelp, Google, and TripAdvisor.
“This In-N-Out is really just a tradition amiright?” One Yelp user commented. “You cannot drive to/from Vegas or anywhere East without stopping here.”
Several reviewers also mentioned that tour buses or intercity buses frequently stop at the Barstow location, most likely on their way between Los Angeles and Las Vegas or on day trips to the outlet malls near the restaurant.
Others commented on how large and crowded the restaurant feels, though the majority reported that operations were running smoothly during their visit.
“The kitchen alone is as big as a normal In-N-Out restaurant, so they pump out those burgers with lightning speed,” according to a Yelp reviewer.
Even so, at least a few visitors reported that the restaurant is much less crowded after the afternoon rush, when travelers have left for their destinations or tourists have returned home.
When asked, an In-N-Out Burger representative declined to comment on whether tourism played a role in the company’s decision to locate a large restaurant in Barstow. They also did not specify whether the Barstow restaurant is larger in terms of square footage than the one proposed for the BLVD shopping complex on the Las Vegas Strip in 2026.
The representative did, however, confirm that the upcoming location in Las Vegas, which is expected to have over 8,000 square feet of indoor space and 2,500 square feet of patio space, will still be “second only to our restaurant in Barstow” in terms of seating capacity.
And, while the seating may be limited, the BLVD location on the Las Vegas Strip may provide a more upscale atmosphere than the Barstow location.
“In-N-Out is always awesome,” one customer said of the Barstow location, “even in the middle of the desert, in what feels like the middle of nowhere.”
