A Texas man is charged with stalking and making terroristic threats after allegedly unleashing a series of public outbursts and menacing comments on multiple people, including a chilling confrontation in which he threatened to stab a man in front of his wife and children as they sat at a park picnic table, according to police.
Corey Dellinger, 36, is facing charges in Lubbock County for alleged threats made on social media and in public in recent days and months, according to local CBS affiliate KLBK. According to online jail records, he has been in custody for nearly a week since being arrested by Lubbock police.
Dellinger allegedly threatened strangers and a family member whom he accused of “sleeping with his wife,” according to court documents obtained by KLBK. According to documents obtained by KLBK, he was recently released from a mental health facility. But it is unclear when.
According to court documents, Dellinger was allegedly “making threats of harm and death towards family” prior to his arrest. The picnic table incident occurred on July 9, the same day Dellinger allegedly began threatening his loved ones and random people in public, as well as posting online threats in recent months, according to police.
Dellinger allegedly wrote, “Watch me murder my [family member],” in a March post, according to KLBK.
For the picnic table threats, the targeted father reported the incident to police, telling them that Dellinger approached their table at random and began asking questions about his children. According to court documents, the father attempted to offer a handshake, which allegedly triggered Dellinger and was perceived as a threat by him. Dellinger allegedly said he was going to get a gun and kill the man before walking away.
In another incident, Dellinger allegedly stopped a stranger and told them he was with “Anonymous,” without further explanation. According to court documents, the person mistook Dellinger for a YouTuber before threatening to “get her” with a knife.
Dellinger was also reportedly seen standing on a local dam in Lubbock at one point, shouting threats at people.
He was being held Monday on $130,000 bonds.
