A Valentine woman has been charged in connection with a stabbing from last week.
Sharayne Herman, 27, has been charged in Cherry County Court with first-degree assault and felony weapon use.
An arrest affidavit states that on July 16, a Valentine Police officer was dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of North Valentine Street to investigate a stabbing. When the officer arrived on the scene, he reported seeing a man with a one-inch stab wound on his upper left chest.
The officer stated that he gave Herman multiple commands to stand up, which she ignored. She was ultimately arrested without incident.
According to the affidavit, the victim told a Cherry County Sheriff’s Deputy that Herman had come home drunk, argued with him, and then stabbed him. EMS personnel treated the victim’s injuries on the scene.
Herman’s bond has been set at $100,000, with 10% of that amount required to be posted before she is released from jail.
