LIMA, Ohio – Unity Elementary held a carnival to reward students for their good behavior so far this year.
The carnival included games, activities, and prizes that rewarded children for demonstrating responsibility, respect, and safety. Unity staff say it’s part of a larger effort to encourage students to stay focused and positive throughout the month.
“Students frequently ask, ‘How many points do I have? How many points do I need to earn this month? Am I respectful? Am I being responsible? What should I work on to earn this? “It has a significant impact on their behavior,” said Sarah Zeller, the school social worker at Unity Elementary.
Each month, Unity celebrates good behavior with a different theme, such as trunk-or-treat and science fairs.
