U.S. News and World Report selected Lima as one of the top five places to live in Ohio

LIMA, Ohio – While the City of Lima sometimes gets a bad reputation, a new independent report casts a positive light on the community.

A recent article by U.S. News & World Report ranked Lima as the fifth-best place to live in Ohio, boosting the city’s profile. The ranking was determined using data from Applied Geographic Solutions, which considered factors such as quality of life, cost of living, desirability, and job market. Lima received a score of 5.3, placing it among the top five cities in the state.

“What we’ve been able to see with this new ranking is that people are recognizing what we’ve known all along, that Lima is a great place to live, work, as well as play,” Sharetta Smith, Lima Mayor, said. “It is also a testament of all the hard work that we’ve been doing over the past years to revitalize our downtown, to bring back our neighborhoods, to continue to keep crime down and also to increase the livability in our city.”

Mayor Smith believes that by continuing to improve infrastructure, safety, and community engagement, the city will be able to climb the rankings.
