Ty Lenards and Gabi Olson, golfers from Watertown, win the SDGASanford International Series

SIOUX FALLS — Ty Lenards and Gabi Olson of Watertown each won the South Dakota Golf Association/Sanford International Series Championships on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Country Club of Sioux Falls.

The tournament included the top 30 boys and 15 girls from the summer series.

Lenards won the boys division with a two-under-par 70. Olson shot a 1-under 71 to tie Dakota Dunes’ Katie Betsworth and Rapid City’s Rylan Horning before winning on the fourth hole of the playoffs.

In the girls division, Brynn Roehrich of Watertown tied for sixth place, while Olivia Braun of Aberdeen finished ninth. Both golfers shot 6-over 78.

Bob Wiley Memorial Golf Classic

WEBSTER — The 16th Bob Wiley Memorial Golf Classic is set for Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Webster Golf Course.

The four-person scramble runs $75 per golfer. Donations are tax-deductible, and checks should be made payable to the Webster Diamond Club.

All proceeds benefit Bob Wiley Field projects.

SDGA holds Mid-Amateur Championships

VERMILLION — Three SDGA Women’s Championships were decided on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at The Bluffs Golf Course.

Karly Cotton of Sioux Falls defeated Ericka Schneider of Brookings to win her third SDGA Women’s Mid-Am (25+) Championship by one shot.

Julie Jansa of Sioux Falls won her third SDGA Women’s Senior (55+) title over runner-up Marna Raburn of Rapid City. Vonda Bjorklund of Volga won the first SDGA Women’s Masters (65+) Championship with a career score of 71. Cindy Olson of Rapid City was the Masters’ runner-up.
