Fort Wayne, Ind. – Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident in northern Allen County on Thursday.
According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Old State Road 3 and State Road 3 around 4:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a motorcyclist driving off the road.
When deputies arrived, they reported finding a motorcycle and two people, a male driver and a female passenger, on the east side of the intersection.
According to preliminary findings, the motorcycle was traveling southeast on Old State Road 3 when it approached the intersection with State Road 3. It then continued across the intersection, leaving the roadway and coming to a stop on the east side of State Road 3.
The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The woman was said to be in serious condition.
Both individuals did not appear to be wearing helmets, and speed is thought to have played a role.
