SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota — Two separate vehicle crashes occurred on SD Highway 10 between Dakota Connection Casino and Lake Road.
The Robert’s County Sheriff’s Office announced the crashes on Facebook, saying they both occurred within the last five hours.
Officials say one of the crashes resulted in serious injuries. While no injuries were reported in the other crash, it did cause extensive vehicle damage, with at least one vehicle totaled, according to the sheriff’s office.
At least one of the crashes was caused by distracted driving, according to officials. They urge drivers to stay focused while driving.
“A few seconds of distraction can have life-changing consequences. Please slow down, stay alert, and assist us in making this stretch of highway and all of Roberts County safe for everyone.” The Roberts County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook.
