Throughout the region, local communities celebrate Independence Day with fireworks displays

As the United States prepares to celebrate its 249th birthday, communities in Northwest Ohio and Northeast Indiana are lighting up the sky with patriotic fireworks. Local organizers in small towns and larger cities have announced a full schedule of fireworks events to commemorate Independence Day in 2025.

The festivities will begin the weekend before the Fourth of July, with displays on Saturday, June 28 in Bryan and Holgate, Ohio. These early celebrations allow families to get in the patriotic spirit ahead of the holiday week.

A larger schedule of events is planned for Thursday, July 3, with displays in Defiance, Wauseon, Bowling Green, and Maumee/Perrysburg, Ohio. With multiple locations hosting events on the same evening, area residents will have plenty of options for watching fireworks close to home.

The highlight of the holiday, Friday, July 4, will be shows in Van Wert and Napoleon, Ohio, as well as larger displays in Downtown Toledo, Downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Angola, Indiana. These Independence Day events are expected to attract large crowds and serve as the focal point of local Fourth of July celebrations.

The fireworks celebrations will continue throughout the weekend, with a display in Grand Rapids, Ohio, on Saturday, July 5.

On Saturday, July 11, Paulding, Ohio, will host the John Paulding Summer Blast, which will conclude the regional celebration. This family-friendly event will include fireworks as part of a larger community celebration hosted by the CoRP.

With a variety of locations and dates, families throughout the region will be able to celebrate America’s independence with spectacular fireworks displays, local pride, and community unity.
