Three individuals are arrested following a standoff in California City; the Kern Crisis Response Unit assists

California City, California – According to the California City Police Department, two suspects are in custody, while another was cited and released following a standoff in California City on Saturday afternoon.

CCPD told Eyewitness News that around 2 p.m., they received a report of a deadly weapon assault in the 8000 block of Walpole Avenue.

After an investigation, officers identified the suspects, who were discovered in the 7800 block of Xavier Ave.

When officers arrived, the suspects had barricaded themselves inside the home.

Because of the nature of the situation and the possibility of a firearm being used, the Kern Crisis Response Unit was contacted for assistance.

Approximately two hours later, three suspects were arrested. Officers told Eyewitness News that nobody was hurt.

Two of the suspects were arrested, while the other was cited and released on misdemeanor charges.

This is an ongoing investigation.
