PORT CLINTON, Ohio — This weekend, the Liberty of Aviation Museum will host living history flights on the 1928 Ford Tri-Motor planes ‘City of Wichita’ and ‘City of Port Clinton’.

The plane is famous for its pivotal role in air travel and for being one of the tri-motors that transported Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart on the first-ever air-rail transcontinental flight in 1929.

The Ford Tri-Motor was also used to establish routes throughout the United States, including Island Airlines in Northwest Ohio. Island Airlines operated until the 1980s, serving the Lake Erie Islands.

The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Adults pay $99 per ride, while children aged 17 and under pay $75. Children under two years old can sit on an adult’s lap for free. Those who wish to sit in the co-pilot seat will be charged $200 if space is available.
